Draft genomes: sequence and analysesData for download
From this page you can access draft genome data for the organisms Methanococcoides burtonii, Methanogenium frigidum and Sphingopyxis alaskensis. Please read the following notes before proceeding.
  • Currently we provide 2 builds for M. burtonii. The latest is named 20041112 (year-month-day). The previous build, 20031211, is referenced in many of our publications. If you want to relate a gene from the 20031211 build to the latest data, the simplest way is to obtain the gene sequence and use the BLAST server.
Two builds are also available for S. alaskensis. Build I uses the initial annotation (3223 gene models), build II the latest annotation (3199 gene models).
  • Genome data for M. frigidum are low-quality and low coverage. These data were last analysed early 2003. Gene models are called using Critica only and contain truncated ORFs. The Moore Foundation are currently generating higher coverage draft sequence for this genome which we hope to have available soon.
  • These pages represent supplementary data for many of our publications.
  • Data are in a state of constant revision. The latest data for M. burtonii and S. alaskensis can always be found at the JGI/ORNL annotation website.

Update 07 Jun 2006
The genome of S. alaskensis is now closed and available at the NCBI.

Update 17 Apr 2006
The genome of M. burtonii is now closed and available at the NCBI.  The data at this site is provided for legacy purposes only.
The S. alaskensis genome is also closed and will be publicly available by June 2006.

BLAST searchFrom this link, you can BLAST against contigs, genes (nucleotide) or ORFs (translated). BLAST databases are derived from the most recent builds of all draft genomes.
